Documenting land regeneration

Early, in 1981, Auroville was a desert. Anybody returning in 2020 will be surprised, even shocked, to see today’s lush green canopies. A comprehensive study is being worked on, documenting the steps Auroville’s early pioneers discovered to accomplish the successful regeneration of the land: The aim is that villagers, farmers and communities around the world can see how barren land in the tropics can be regenerated into fertile forest and agricultural land. A series of videos will share the practical steps Auroville’s early pioneers used, their experiences and discoveries about what worked and what didn’t work, largely using inexpensive low tech methods that require few tools or material inputs.
